Before practicing law, Lawrence started his working life as a Quantity Surveyor in construction industry serving mainly the contractors. He was previously an Estate Manager in one of the biggest estate in Singapore. As a Quantity Surveyor and Estate Manager, Lawrence participated in various construction litigations, disputes and arbitrations instructing counsels on the preparation of cases.

After leaving the construction industry, Lawrence was absorbed into insurance industry. He was the Claims Manager for one of the leading European insurers. As a Claims Manager, Lawrence handled various disputes of claims in motor accidents, industrial accidents, construction, marine, workmen’s compensation, fire and many other insurance claims.

After graduated in 1994 with an LLB (Hons), he was subsequently called to the Bar as a barrister-at-Law of the Middle Temple, England and Wales in 1996. He was then admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in July 1997. After admitting to the Singapore Bar, Lawrence continued to work in the insurance industry. He left the insurance industry and returned to legal profession in 2002.

Lawrence deals almost exclusively in insurance and construction litigation. His areas of practice include Personal Injury, Construction disputes. He understand the needs of the client, as he was a “client” before. He is proficient in English and Mandarin. He also speak Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka very well. He also can communicate in Teochew and Malay.
